Hola Jose Luis,
Hay un libro maravilloso escrito en espanol y publicado en Argentina. Se llama Telar Mapuche por Enrique Taranto. No trata de backstrap loom pero ensena varias tecnicas para tejer dibujos indigenas y que pueden ser adaptadas al backstrap loom. Tambien en mi grupo de Weavolution hay un tutorial escrito en espanol de tejido de doble faz. Hay solo uno por ahora pero pronto vienen algunos mas.

I love weaving but my lower back hurt so much with back strap that I had to stop. do any of you found a solution?

Sofy, you can do warp-faced weaving on an inkle loom or other frame looms with adjustable tension. You don’t have to use a backstrap loom. Backstrap weaving isn’t for everyone but, fortunately, there other options!

Thank goodness! I have finally cracked it. Having worked my way through the first Andean pebble weave book I was looking forward to dipping into the second and then I noticed that you had changed the pattern format. My heart sank and I put that book away for a month. But I looked at it this weekend, tried one of the smaller bands without any notations (thought it best just to throw myself into it) and by the time I was halfway through the first repeat it all made perfect sense and I can now read them perfectly and am presently designing my first band from scratch
Thank you Laverne – you have opened a whole new range of patterns to me.I will post my first effort when it is completed (if it works, that is)!

¿Hablas español? Estoy estudiando tu libro de tejido de doble faz y practicando paso a paso, como me sugeriste (intenté tejer una banda más ancha en telar de cintura, pero tuve problemas porque la urdiembre me quedó con tensión dispareja y se fue soltando en algunas partes; reintentaré con la urdiembre repetidamente, para volver al de cintura pronto, por ahora estoy con un telar rígido).
Quería preguntarte cómo logras que el comienzo del tejido te quede parejo. Estoy tejiendo una banda de 8 revoluciones (la primera del libro), y si bien he logrado hacer el diseño, el comienzo del tejido se tendió a enrollar. ¿Esto resulta mejor si al urdir se deja las hebras en el orden definitivo, como enseñas en el anexo? ¿Resulta mejor con bandas más anchas? ¿O es una cosa de práctica, más que nada?
Otra pregunta era si en tu blog enseñas en alguna parte a trabajar los bordes, aparte de hacer trenzados, por ejemplo si quisiera dejar flecos sin trenzas, ¿qué técnicas existen?
Reitero que es un placer leer tus libros y ver tu blog, tremendamente inspirador, y muy generoso de tu parte.

As a new person on here can you tell what make of inkle is in the basic weft twinning photo. I am still looking to find my ideal inkle/tablet loom.
The one I fell in love with doesn’t post to the UK mores the pity.

The only inkle loom I own is an Ashford Inklette.I think it is very likely too small to be useful for tablets.
