I was intrigued by this piece but strangely could not find any information on its origin. It is a simple warp float technique and what I find most interesting is that the weaver has eliminated the appearnce of the horizontal stripes on this piece by simply dropping those warps and allowing the weft to be exposed. As the weft is the same color as the on floated warps, it is hardly noticeable. I would have loved to have seen the back of this textile to see the resulting floats but, unfortunately, there it sat all rolled up.
