Walking around Cusco itself you can see the statue of Inca king Pachacutec with whom the history if the Inca empire begins. He is behind of the great expansions of the empire in the 15th century. The ruins of Sacsayhuaman with its example of Inca stonework can be reached on foot from the center of Cusco.
