Days, weeks and months are spent spinning. Even the brght acrylic yarns bought at the market need to be respun before they can go on the loom. The cotton weavers use their thread doubled. Yarn bought in skeins needs to to be wound into balls and often tripled or quadrupled in the case of the supplementary weft yarns used for patterning in Guatemala.
