Hair shashes of Zunil

Two hair sashe that I Had bought in the market at Chichicastenango. I particularly liked the one on the right in its soft autumn colors. I later discovered that it was originally woven in bright primary colors and then overdyed to suit the taste of foreigners. I have been told that sometimes textles are simple soaked in tea to tone down the colors. Now I would like to wash this band and recover the orignal hues.
