Two of the six beaters in the set that makes up the Salasaca weaver’s tool kit. The small one is used to pick up the warps. There are two larger ones than the bigger one seen in this picture. The typical Salasaca belt is firm with its wefts very well beaten into place. The typical spindle is called a “sig sig” after the pampas grass plant stems from which it is made.
