Backstrap Weaving

Here are the charts for my Mexican mug rugs. I have made some changes since I first wove them and as you see them in the photo below. I have broken up some of the large red areas with some black.

So far, one of the members in my Backstrap Group at Weavolution has made three of the South American motif mug rugs and they have turned out beautifully.

The frame in pattern chart two, above, is one warp wider than in the other charts.

This is not a mug rug chart but it is a design that I adapted from a Mexican band for double weave. I used it to weave a strap for my camera.

I advise you to extend this chart and complete the design for the length of your piece. The design did not repeat at all on the band that I wove and it can be tricky trying to figure when the motif should appear from the right and disappear from the left as the pattern advances.
